Gripper
Gripper is a fast-paced cyberpunk action game where you ride a tricked-out cyberbike through tunnels that are falling apart and use a grappling hook to tear apart huge mechanical guardians. Heart Core made and published this intense boss-rush game. It has Akira-style graphics, brutal combat, and an emotional story about loss and survival. Great for short, exciting sessions on PC or on the go with Android emulators like Winlator.
Gripping Story of a Collapsing World
You are None, a cyber biker who races home only to find that everything is broken. He has to fight through a post-apocalyptic world with his sarcastic AI friend Cat-Kit to save his family while the world literally falls apart around him. Each boss represents a stage of grief and destruction, and the voice acting is full of emotion. The music is a pulsing synthwave.
As you rip out mechanical hearts from defeated guardians, the story unfolds through haunting audio logs and striking comic-style cutscenes. In a dying world, the story looks at family, regret, and how proud people can be. It hits you in the heart in between the big boss fights.
Fast-Paced Bike Combat and Heart-Ripping Mechanics
The main thing to do in the game is to learn how to control your cyberbike’s speed and the powerful grappling hook. Swing across arenas, grab enemies to close the gap right away, and then tear them apart in brutal, physics-based takedowns. Each ripped “metal heart” gives you new, powerful abilities, like explosive drones, dash boosts, and area-denial mines. This lets you create your own aggressive playstyle.
The boss fights are the best part: huge monster trucks, giant spiders, and snake-like monsters that need precise movement, dodging, and hook use. Tunnel sections add fast-paced action on rails with obstacles and quick-time events. The short campaign (4 to 6 hours) is all about having fun boss fights and making progress, so it’s great for playing again on harder levels or trying out new builds.
Immersive Cyberpunk Thrills
It feels electric to ride through Gripper’s ruins and broken infrastructure, which are full of neon lights. The hand-drawn art style is full of bright colors and detailed destruction, and the thumping music goes perfectly with every hook swing and heart rip. On PC, it has smooth, high-fidelity action. On Android, you can use Winlator to get the same intense bike combat on the go, which is great for short sessions.
