Jackal

Jackal throws players into a whirlwind of ultra-violent top-down action set in the neon-lit chaos of 1970s Las Vegas casino hotels. You play as a coked-up hitman taking down the mob with physics-driven mayhem. This indie gem was made by Transhuman Design. It combines the fast pace of Hotline Miami with the style of Tarantino, using weaponized furniture and brutal finishers to create improvised carnage. Jackal is an adrenaline-pumping escape that appeals to both desktop warriors and mobile thrill-seekers. You can destroy things on a powerful PC or use Winlator to bring the chaos to Android devices.

Storyline

In Jackal, you play a drugged-up psychopath hitman who is guided by a supernatural partner, an Egyptian god of death like Anubis, through the smoke-filled underbelly of mob-controlled Vegas. The god pushes enemies into cannibalistic madness. The story is a psychedelic noir thriller in which housecleaning jobs blend together, making it hard to tell what is real and what is a never-ending bad trip filled with acid jazz and moral decay.

This revenge-driven story makes fun of gangster stories through over-the-top scenes that are inspired by Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas. Your character tears through crime families, steals from vaults, and collects bounties. With great voice acting from people like Matthew Curtis, the story weaves together themes of excess and immortality, turning each raid into a chapter of rising insanity in famous places that have become slaughterhouses.

Gameplay

Jackal’s main feature is brutal top-down close-quarters combat, where timing and spatial awareness are everything. There is no stealth, just pure, physics-based destruction. Use weapons from the 1970s, like shotguns and makeshift sofas, to do slide kicks, grabs, and throws that make enemies look like ragdolls. The only time you can be hurt is when you reload, so keep the action going.

You can play the game over and over again because of the randomly generated rooms, stackable mutators that make things more chaotic, and unlockable drug superpowers that are linked to Egyptian gods. You can choose one per level for tactical changes like faster speed or stronger strength. Brutal finishers and a wide range of enemies, from wiseguys to armed chimps, require players to come up with new strategies that combine melee skills with improvisation in the environment for endless, one-of-a-kind massacres.

Playing Experience

Diving into Jackal gives you a powerful rush of power. Mastering the geometry of a room for perfect raids gives you euphoric highs, and the frustration of dying in one hit turns into triumphant addiction as you chain finishers and superpowers in a ballet of gore, whether you’re playing on PC with crisp controls or on Android with Winlator-optimized runs.
